Resumo(s):	[Excerpt] As a scientific area of knowledge, strategic communication studies are an emerging field within communication sciences and organisational communication research. It is a disciplinary field concerned with the influence of communication in fulfilling the organisational mission — that is, with its “strategic” dimension (van Ruler, 2018). The word “organisation” is used in this book in its broadest sense to refer to companies and institutions, that is, for-profit and non-profit entities, which may include corporations but also activist groups, non-governmental organisations, political parties or movements.
