O fa(r)do de ser mulher no meio rural angolano. Identidade de género e tradição cultural

Abstract

No meio rural angola predomina uma cultura tradicional, com as suas práticas socializadoras tendentes à preservação da identidade cultural. A socialização de crianças, em particular das meninas, faz-se no contexto da tradição , apoiada em ritos iniciáticos e fundada na discriminação da mulher, cujo destino fica traçado: ser dona de casa sujeita às lógicas de dominação masculina. Por isso, neste meio, é preparada desde cedo para os papéis tradicionalmente femininos, sendo-lhe vedada participação em atividades ou contextos considerados próprios dos homens. Com este texto pretende-se problematizar a influência da tradição cultural na socialização comunitária no meio rural angolano onde, apesar da ação educativa da escola oficial, prevalece o preconceito da superioridade masculina o qual condiciona a construção social do género e arreda a mulher para um lugar secundário na comunidade.

In the rural Angolan context predominates a traditional culture, with their socializing practices for the preservation of the cultural identity: the socialization of children, particularly girls, is made in the context of tradition, supported by initiation rites and based on discrimination of women whose fate is mapped out: be a housewife, subject to the logic of men domination. Therefore, in this context she is early prepared for the traditional female roles and she is prohibited from participating in activities or contexts specifically considered inherent to the men. With this paper we intend to discuss the influence of cultural tradition in the socialization in the Angolan rural community where, despite the work of the official school, there is the prejudice of male superiority which affects the social construction of gender and refers the woman to a secondary place in the community.
