do consumidor final.
setor hoteleiro, influência a perspetiva do consumidor final.
The scope of this study deals with an in-depth analysis of sustainable home textiles' use in sustainable hospitality and ecotourism, with a particular focus on the optimum end consumer. The development of the master's thesis, entitled "Study of Sustainable Home Textiles in the (Sustainable) Hospitality Sector: The Consumer's Perspective", was motivated by the need for change in all sectors and industries, in favor of the environment. However, the emphasis on the textile and hotel sectors is due to the recognition that both are highly polluting sectors. In an era in which environmental and social responsibility are permanent imperatives, the textile industry faces the need to make its production processes and choices of raw materials more transparent and conscious. Hence the concept of sustainable textiles, i.e., certified textiles made from more sustainable, recyclable, or biodegradable fibers and whose production is responsible and proven. In this line of thought, the same need also arises in the hotel sector, where it is essential to have sustainable management practices, both during its operation and before and after its service. This study therefore interconnects both markets through the concept of sustainable home textiles, with the aim of gaining a quantitative understanding of how the adoption of this concept by the hotel sector influences the perspective of the end consumer. This quantitative research seeks to understand guests' sensitivity to the introduction of sustainable home textiles, i.e. sheets, towels, and dressing gowns, among others. Therefore, the development begins with a theoretical understanding of the themes relevant to the study, followed by the definition of the appropriate methodology for the interpretation of the research, using the collection of results through a survey, and finally, the analysis of the sample in order to fulfill a final conclusion that motivated the development of this theme. |
