¿Euroiberización? Para una interpretación del marco relacional ibérico actual: desfronterización, policentrismo y regionalización

Abstract

Starting in 1986, when Spain and Portugal became part of the EEC (now the EU), relations between the two Iberian states progressively underwent important changes in several dimensions: the vertiginous increase in economic exchanges, the intensification of mobility (both tourism and labour), the (para) diplomacy promoted by different actors, its expression in the educational programmes of the different territories, etc. From this, we intend to identify some of the trends that are resignifying intra-Iberian contact, especially in its cultural dimension, resulting from extra-Iberian factors originating from the EU. Focusing on the Galician-Portuguese case, the processes related to disborderisation, polycentrism (and multiple agency) and regionalisation will be highlighted, as increasingly significant trends in the social and cultural dimensions of the field of Iberian relations today.
