Para uma arquitetura bioclimática

Abstract

O âmbito deste trabalho é estudar e realçar a relação do clima com a arquitetura. Para isto, dividiu-se o trabalho em quatro capítulos principais. O primeiro capítulo aborda o sistema solar, os diferentes climas e a influência, destes, nas arquiteturas vernaculares. O segundo capítulo parte do início do século XX e estuda a importância do clima nas obras de Frank Lloyd Wright e Le Corbusier, destacando como as mesmas ambicionavam interagir com o clima, para atingir o conforto atmosférico interior. O terceiro capítulo demonstra o impacto dos sistemas mecânicos de climatização, na arquitetura, e explora esta nova era. Por fim, o quarto capítulo aborda o trabalho de três arquitetos contemporâneos, que tem por base de projeto, a interação com o clima. Assim, o conjunto destes capítulos, demostram os dois lados da interação entre a arquitetura e o clima, a partir do desenho ou a partir dos mecanismos. Com isto, fomenta-se o entendimento dos princípios bioclimáticos integrados no desenho do próprio objeto arquitetónico e manifesta-se este desenho em prol de uma arquitetura bioclimática.

The scope of this work is to study and highlight the relationship between climate and architecture. For this purpose, the work will be divided into four main chapters. The first chapter refers to the solar system, the different climates and their influence on vernacular architectures. The second chapter starts from the beginning of the 20th century and studies the importance of climate in the works of Frank Lloyd Wright and Le Corbusier, highlighting how they aspired to interact with the climate, in order to achieve interior atmospheric comfort. The third chapter demonstrates the impact of mechanical HVAC systems on architecture and explores this new era. Finally, the fourth chapter addresses the work of three contemporary architects, whose design is based on the interaction with climate. Thus, the set of these chapters, demonstrate the two sides of the interaction between architecture and climate, from the design or from the mechanisms. With this, the understanding of the bioclimatic principles integrated in the design of the architectural object itself is promoted and this design is manifested in form of a bioclimatic architecture.
