Aquisição das competências de escrita e de oralidade em português língua estrangeira por falantes de Inglês e Shona

Abstract

Esta pesquisa debruça-se sobre o ensino-aprendizagem de português como língua estrangeira (PLE) na Universidade do Zimbabwe. É uma análise do contexto de aprendizagem, dos instrumentos, das estratégias e dos métodos usados pelos professores no processo de ensino da língua. A cada vez mais crescente importância das línguas estrangeiras e do português em particular a nível internacional torna imperativo que melhores práticas no ensino de PLE sejam implementadas para se aproveitar ao máximo a oportunidade de os alunos zimbabuanos se tornarem falantes de português através do ensino-aprendizagem eficaz. Embora a língua seja ensinada há décadas na instituição, existem áreas que ainda requerem atenção e profunda investigação, a fim de se melhorar a qualidade do ensino-aprendizagem de português. O futuro e a sustentabilidade do ensino de português na Universidade do Zimbabwe, na verdade, reside na capacidade da instituição para corresponder aos padrões mundiais e produzir indivíduos suficientemente competentes sobretudo nas áreas da escrita e da oralidade.

This research focuses on the teaching and learning of Portuguese as a foreign language (PLE) at the University of Zimbabwe. It is an analysis of the learning context, the instruments, the strategies and the methods used by the teachers in the process of teaching the language. The increasing importance of foreign languages and Portuguese in particular at the international level makes it imperative that best practices in PLE teaching are implemented to make the most of the opportunity for Zimbabwean students to become Portuguese speakers through effective teaching and learning. Although the language has been taught for decades in the institution, there are areas that still require attention and profound research, in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning of the language. The future and sustainability of Portuguese language teaching at the University of Zimbabwe actually lies in the institution's ability to meet world standards and produce individuals sufficiently competent especially in the areas of writing and orality.
