Ovar : memórias industriais de uma urbe

Abstract

O propósito deste trabalho a desenvolver no âmbito do Mestrado de Património e Turismo Cultural sob orientação do Professor Doutor José Manuel Lopes Cordeiro consiste em apresentar uma proposta de projecto cultural e de promoção turística, tendo como zona alvo de estudo os bens materiais alvo de intervenção no âmbito do P.R.U., com especial destaque para o património industrial do centro histórico da cidade de Ovar. O desenvolvimento do trabalho tem como objectivo identificar e caracterizar potenciais recursos materiais e imateriais endógenos, analisar e propor acções, produtos e serviços adequados à actual conjuntura política, económica, social, cultural e turística, tendo como principais alvos o Centro Histórico da Cidade de Ovar, o Museu Júlio Dinis - Uma Casa Ovarense, e a Escola de Artes e Ofícios. As propostas a desenvolver neste projecto visam a instrumentalização de acções que permitam a identificação e rentabilização dos recursos materiais e imateriais patentes no centro histórico da sede do município, interligando-os com as inúmeras mais-valias existentes no concelho. Pretende-se sugerir a estruturação e criação de mecanismos de gestão do território, serviços e produtos culturais e turísticos, com potencial valor acrescentado, inseridos num conjunto de cenários regionais e nacionais e na hipotética agenda política da autarquia de Ovar.

The purpose of this work in development in the scope of the Patrimony and Cultural Tourism Master’s Degree, under Prof. Dr. José Manuel Lopes Cordeiro’s guidance consists in presenting a cultural and turistic promotion project proposal, having as a target zone the study of material goods on which there have been interventions in the scope of the P.R.U., underlining the industrial patrimony of Ovar City’s Historical Center. The goal of the work’s development is to identify and characterize potential material and immaterial endogenous resources, to analyze and propose actions, products and services suited to the current political, economic, social, touristic and cultural conjuncture, the main targets being Ovar City’s Historical Center, the Júlio Dinis Museum – A House of Ovar and the School of Arts and Crafts. The proposals to develop in this project seek the instrumentalization of actions which allow the identification and profitability of the material and immaterial resources present in the city’s historical centre, connecting them to the numerous benefits existing in the city. It’s intended to suggest the organization and creation of territory management mechanisms, services and cultural and touristic products, with potential increased value, inserted in a set of regional and national scenarios and in the hypothetical political agenda of Ovar’s municipality.
