Interface dos dois mundos: articulação entre o sistema ferroviário da Linha do Tâmega e o sistema urbano da cidade de Amarante

Abstract

O sistema ferroviário representa um papel fundamental para a mobilidade das popula ções, combinando os avanços tecnológicos com estruturas de maior potência e velocidade. Como consequência desta realidade, as forças políticas procuram investir neste tipo de transporte com o objetivo de reforçar a coesão territorial, fortalecendo dessa forma a conec tividade dos territórios. Nos últimos tempos, são várias as notícias que nos informam que a ferrovia tem sido uma aposta bem definida nos investimentos dos estados. O plano nacional de investimentos “Ferrovia 2020” representa um investimento aproximado de 2 mil milhões de euros para mais de 1000 km de linhas intervencionadas. A presente investigação visa o estudo da Linha do Tâmega e a sua estação ferroviária de Amarante. Perante este paradigma, avançando sobre a premissa da reativação da Linha do Tâmega, propõe-se desenvolver um interface que articule todos os meios de comunicação existentes na cidade de Amarante. Desta forma, a realização deste trabalho centra-se não só no estudo do desenho/traçado da linha e o seu enquadramento histórico, como também na pesquisa dos meios de comunicação existentes na cidade. É neste contexto que se define uma proposta capaz de resolver a problematização da zona envolvente da estação ferroviária. Em simultâneo, pretende-se contribuir para uma mobili dade integrada, convergindo todos os meios de transporte num ponto central. Esse ponto será a estação de Amarante, tornando a utilização de transportes públicos mais eficiente.

The rail system plays a key role in the mobility of populations, combining technological ad vances with structures of greater power and speed. As a result of this reality, political forces seek to invest in this type of transport with the aim of strengthening territorial cohesion, thus reinforcing the connectivity of territories. In recent times, there are several news that inform us that the railroad has been a well- -defined bet on State investments. The national investment plan “Ferrovia 2020” represents an investment of around 2 billion euros for more than 1000 km of intervention lines. The present investigation aims to study the Tâmega Line and its Amarante railway station. In view of this paradigm, advancing on the premise of reactivating the Tâmega Line, it is proposed to develop an interface that articulates all existing means of communication in the city of Amarante. In this way, the realization of this work focuses not only on the study of the drawing/tracing of the line and its historical context, but also on the research of the existing means of communication in the city. It is in this context that a proposal capable of solving the problem of the area surrounding the railway station is defined. At the same time, it is intended to contribute to integrated mobility, converging all means of transport at a central point. This point will be the Amarante station, making the use of public transport more efficient.
