Natália Correia e a visão feminina do culto popular do Espírito Santo

Abstract

Neste texto, exporei a doutrina do culto do Espírito Santo desenvolvida pela poetisa Natália Correia, alicerçada na visão feminina, e como esse culto ganhou tradição em Portugal após a Rainha S.ta Isabel o ter acolhido por influência do franciscano Arnaldo Vilanova, seguidor do milenarismo de Joaquim de Flora, e o Rei D. Dinis, seu marido, ter tornado as respetivas festas, a partir da vila de Alenquer, a vila da Rainha, em acontecimento nacional. Depois de referir o acolhimento e a expansão do culto pelas ordens do Templo, de Cister e dos Franciscanos espirituais, a poetisa açoriana destaca a íntima ligação que o mesmo manteve com o poder político, quer na fundação de Portugal quer no projeto universalista que o país encetou com os Descobrimentos, realçando, aqui, o papel de charneira do arquipélago dos Açores. Tendo encontrado similitudes entre o culto do Espírito Santo e o paganismo, vê, ainda, nos poetas Antero de Quental, Fernando Pessoa e Teixeira de Pascoaes expoentes máximos da corrente que associa a maneira de ser mais profunda dos Portugueses à teologia pentecostal milenarista.

In this text, I will expose the doctrine of the Holy Spirit’s cult developed by poet Natália Correia, founded in women’s vision, and how this cult gained tradition in Portugal after the Queen Saint Isabel received it under the influence of the Franciscan Arnaldo Vilanova, follower of Joaquim de Fiore’s millennialism, and King Dinis, her husband, turned its parties, in Alenquer village, the village of the Queen, into a national event. After referring to the reception and the expansion of the service by the Temple of orders, Cistercian and Spiritual Franciscans, the Azorean poet emphasizes the close connection that it had with the political power, whether in the foundation of Portugal and the universalist project that the country initiated with the findings, highlighting here the role of the Azores the hinge. Having found similarities between the cult of the Holy Spirit and paganism, she sees also in the poets Antero de Quental, Fernando Pessoa and Teixeira Pascoaes the leading exponents of the current which she associates with the way to be deeper from the Portuguese to millenarian Pentecostal theology.
