A WebQuest na aula de TIC: um estudo de caso com alunos do 9º ano de escolaridade

Abstract

Com a evolução da Internet, as WebQuest têm vindo a tornar-se uma metodologia de utilização didática da informação disponível na Web, orientando os alunos na seleção, organização e transformação da informação e na construção conjunta de conhecimento. Com base no modelo de WebQuest de Bernie Dodge e Tom March (1995) e nos princípios da aprendizagem construtivista, o presente estudo compreendeu a concepção e implementação de uma WebQuest de curta duração, relacionada com a unidade “Criação de apresentações” do programa do 9o ano de escolaridade da disciplina de Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC), tendo como tema “As TIC e a importância da sua utilização no mundo atual”. Tivemos por objectivos (i) compreender como é que os alunos de duas turmas interagem durante a resolução da WebQuest e (ii) avaliar a influência da WebQuest na aprendizagem, na motivação e empenho dos alunos e no produto final. Os resultados do estudo sustentam que a realização da WebQuest permitiu que os alunos estabelecessem relações de partilha, encorajou a aprendizagem colaborativa, potenciou o papel construtivo dos alunos na compreensão da importância das TIC no mundo atual e contribuiu para a aprendizagem da unidade da “criação de apresentações”. Os alunos demonstraram motivação e empenho durante a realização das tarefas, realizaram a atividade com sucesso e consideraram a WebQuest como uma metodologia estimulante no conjunto das suas aprendizagens. No final foi possível concluir que a implementação de WebQuests pode ser uma metodologia eficaz para integrar nas aulas, orientando os alunos na construção do conhecimento e rentabilizando as potencialidades que a Web oferece.

With the evolution of Internet, the WebQuest has become a methodology to use the information available on the Web by guiding students in the selection, organization and transformation of information and joint construction of knowledge. Based on the model of WebQuest by Bernie Dodge and Tom March (1995), and the principles of constructivist learning, the present study included the design and implementation of a short term WebQuest. This WebQuest was related to the unit "Designing Presentations" of the 9th grade discipline of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), having as main theme the importance of ICT in today´s world. We had as an objective of understanding how students interact during the resolution of a WebQuest, evaluate the influence of the WebQuest on students learning, motivation and commitment, and also the final product. The results of the study support the idea that while performing the webquest students established sharing relations, encouraged collaborative learning, potentiated the constructive role of the students in understanding the importance of ICT in today's world. Also contributed to the students' motivation for learning to drive the “Designing Presentations". Students demonstrate motivation and commitment while performing the tasks, carried out the activity successfully and considered the WebQuest as a stimulating learning methodology. In the end we concluded that the implementation of WebQuests can be an effective methodology to integrate in the classroom, guiding students in constructing knowledge and maximizing the potential that Web can offer.
