Currently, society´s growing dependence on electric energy is undeniable. One of the main sources of production of this energy is fossil fuels, however due to the environmental problems they entail, it becomes necessary to search for renewable energy sources, with solar energy being in exponential growing in the recent years through photovoltaic panels. The dirt accumulation on photovoltaic panels has been shown as one of the factors that affect energic efficiency. One solution that has been presented to solve this problem, and still under development, is the use of antistatic coatings, which reduce the dirt accumulation, without having to use of water. In this dissertation, a detailed study of five formulations was carried out to evaluate their stability and antistatic performance under environmental conditions to which they are normally exposed (acidic, alkaline, ionic and high temperature). Several physical-chemical parameters were analyzed and techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy with attenuated total reflection, ultraviolet visible spectroscopy and an electrostatic field meter were used. After being subjected to tests to study the stability and resistance to various stress environments, it was found that the AST3 coating was the one that presented the greatest resistance to stress conditions. On the other hand, AST1 and AST2 coatings did not perform well in antistatic tests, proving to be less resistant, but allowed a greater decrease in the electrostatic charge accumulated on the surface than AST3. Cleaning solutions 1 and 2 had a similar behavior. The antistatic tests carried out showed signs of their resistance to the stress tests carried out, but the decrease in the electrostatic charge on the surface that they caused was much lower than the decrease conferred by the coatings. In short, we can conclude that the AST3 coating is the one that showed the greatest potential to be applied in photovoltaic panels. AST1 and AST2 coatings showed good results, but it is necessary to optimize their formulations in order to increase their resistance to stress tests. |
