A inserção do saxofone tenor no 3º ciclo e ensino secundário em escolas do ensino artístico especializado de música

Abstract

Este projeto foi realizado no âmbito do estágio profissional, inserido no Mestrado em Ensino de Música, variante de instrumento, da Universidade do Minho. O tema deste relatório foi definido após a constatação que os alunos observados nas aulas de saxofone no contexto do estágio profissional, não tinham, até então, qualquer tipo de aprendizagem programada no que concerne ao saxofone tenor. No entanto, este instrumento era tocado pelos alunos na disciplina de classe de conjunto (orquestra). Outro ponto que também teve um grande impacto na escolha da temática foi o facto de a aprendizagem do saxofone ser focada essencialmente no saxofone alto, omitindo a prática e o conhecimento dos restantes instrumentos da família. Para transmitir aos alunos informações sobre o saxofone tenor, a sua importância e peculiaridades, foi-lhes exibido, no início do plano de intervenção, uma apresentação sobre este instrumento. Realizou-se ainda, no decorrer do plano de intervenção, um “diário de motivação e interesse ao tocar saxofone tenor” procurando desenvolver curiosidade e estímulo pelo mesmo e que, consequentemente, explorassem respostas para a melhoria da sua performance. Relativamente à investigação, procurou-se conhecer a história do saxofone, do seu criador e da sua família, dando destaque ao saxofone tenor, pretendeu-se abordar o seu reportório e as diversas saídas profissionais existentes, averiguar o estado do ensino do saxofone tenor nos diversos níveis de ensino especializado de música em Portugal, ao nível dos programas curriculares e dos recursos didáticos e ainda, analisar as vantagens e desvantagens da aprendizagem deste instrumento. Desta forma, foi realizada um revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema, foram analisados programas curriculares da disciplina de saxofone em escolas de ensino especializado de música, realizaram-se dois inquéritos por questionário a professores e alunos sobre o ensino do saxofone tenor e a sua inclusão e foi também entrevistado um professor de saxofone. A partir da recolha de dados, foi possível aferir a ausência da inserção do saxofone tenor nos programas curriculares das escolas de ensino especializado de música ao nível nacional. No que diz respeito aos resultados da análise de dados, estes permitiram constatar que os docentes de saxofone inquiridos acreditam ser vantajosa a aprendizagem do saxofone tenor no meio escolar e julgam que seria positivo incorporar a aprendizagem do mesmo nos programas curriculares da disciplina.

This project was carried out within the scope of the professional internship, inserted in the Master of musical Education, instrument variant, of the Universidade do Minho. The theme of this report was determined after finding that the students observed in the saxophone lessons, within the professional internship, did not have, until then, any kind of learning programmed concerning the tenor saxophone. However, this instrument was played by the students during the subject of orchestra. Another point that had a lot of impact in the choice of this theme was the fact that the learning of the saxophone is mainly focused on the alto saxophone, omitting the practice and knowledge of the rest of the family instruments. To transmit to the students, information about the tenor saxophone, its importance, and peculiarities, it was shown to them, in the begging of the intervention plan, a “motivational and interest diary when playing the tenor saxophone” seeking to develop curiosity and stimuli regarding the same and, consequently, for the students to explore answers for the improvement of their performance. Regarding the investigation, sought to know the history of the saxophone, its creator and family, highlighting the tenor saxophone, it was intended to address its repertoire e the several professional opportunities, find out the state of the saxophone teaching around the multiple levels of specialized teaching in music in Portugal, at the level of curricular programmes e didactical resources and yet, analyze the advantages and disadvantages while learning this instrument. This way, a bibliographic review was carried out about the theme, the curricular programmes of the saxophone subject in specialized music teaching were analyzed, two inquires per questionnaire were made to teachers and students about the tenor saxophone teaching and its inclusion, and an interview was carried out to a saxophone teacher. From the data collected, it was possible to check the absence of the tenor saxophone teaching within the curricular programmes of the music specialized teaching at a national level. Concerning the data analyze results, it was possible to verify that the inquired saxophone teachers believe to be advantageous the learning of the tenor saxophone in school and confirm that would be positive to incorporate the learning of the same in the curricular programme.
