Diferenças nas temáticas abordadas pelo Primeiro Jornal e pelo Jornal da Noite – uma experiência de estágio na SIC

Abstract

O estágio curricular teve a duração de três meses, com início a 20 de março e término a 20 de junho de 2023, na redação da SIC, no Porto. Durante esse período foi possível observar com detalhe toda a logística de funcionamento interno da redação, os desafios e complicações que surgiram no terreno, assim como o contacto com as fontes. O presente estudo debruça-se na análise das temáticas abordadas pelo Primeiro Jornal e pelo Jornal da Noite da SIC. A partir da pergunta de partida - Em que medida é a produção informativa do noticiário Primeiro Jornal diferente do Jornal da Noite da SIC? - pretende-se avaliar, quantificar e classificar a informação a que os noticiários dão destaque, compreendendo as editorias tratadas, os tipos de fontes de informação que são escutadas nesse âmbito e o género jornalístico predominante. Para responder ao objetivo proposto, foi feita uma análise dos noticiários, em três semanas diferentes. O trabalho em investigação é complementado com entrevistas a jornalistas da redação do Porto, que ajudam a dar resposta aos resultados obtidos. O objetivo final é avaliar comparativamente os dois noticiários e de que forma a rotina de produção tem impacto nesse tópico. As conclusões mostram que o Primeiro Jornal opera sob maior pressão, priorizando temas de sociedade em comparação com outras seções, o que lhe confere destaque nas notícias da tarde. Em contraste, o Jornal da Noite concentra-se principalmente em notícias sobre política nacional e conflitos internacionais, com um maior rigor informativo e com espaço para outros géneros jornalísticos. Essas discrepâncias são resultado dos recursos humanos disponíveis nas redações, bem como das diferentes audiências nos dois horários.

The curricular internship lasted three months, starting on March 20th and ending on June 20th, 2023, at the SIC newsroom, in Porto. During this period it was possible to observe in detail all the internal logistics of the newsroom, the challenges and complications that arose in the field, as well as contact with sources. This study focuses on the analysis of the themes covered by Primeiro Jornal and Jornal da Noite from SIC. From the starting question - To what extent is the informative production of the news program Primeiro Jornal different from SIC's Jornal da Noite? - the aim is to evaluate, quantify and classify the information highlighted in the news, understanding the editorials covered, the types of information sources that are heard in this context and the predominant journalistic genre. To respond to the proposed objective, an analysis of the news was carried out in three different weeks. The research work is complemented by interviews with journalists from the Porto newsroom, which help to respond to the results obtained. The final objective is to comparatively evaluate the two news programs and how the production routine has an impact on this topic. The conclusions show that Primeiro Jornal operates under greater pressure, prioritizing society´s issues compared to other sections, which gives it prominence in the afternoon news. In contrast, Jornal da Noite focuses mainly on news about national politics and international conflicts, with greater informative rigor and space for other journalistic genres. These discrepancies are a result of the human resources available in the newsrooms, as well as the different audiences at both times.
