A interculturalidade nos manuais de língua portuguesa no 3º ciclo do Ensino Básico em Portugal - uma realidade?

Abstract

Nesta dissertação, buscamos responder à questão: "A Interculturalidade nos Manuais de Língua Portuguesa no 3.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico em Portugal - Uma Realidade?". Para isso, definimos conceitos importantes, tais como migração (Barreto, 2005; Peixoto, 2007), modelo multicultural de integração de imigrantes (Marques, 2003; Blanc-Noel, 2009), políticas de integração de imigrantes em Portugal, língua (Matheus, 2001) e cultura (Sardinha e Machado, 2013), entre outros tópicos relevantes para a pesquisa. A educação intercultural foi um dos conceitos-chave para alcançar a resposta à nossa questão de estudo, juntamente com as Estratégias Nacional de Educação para a Cidadania e as Aprendizagens Essenciais de Língua Portuguesa no 3.º Ciclo em Portugal. Por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, utilizamos manuais escolares utilizados no 3.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico em Portugal para análise, considerando alguns pontos importantes para análise e também a análise de questionários aplicados a professores de Língua Portuguesa do 3.º Ciclo. Acreditamos que, devido ao grande número de imigrantes falantes da língua portuguesa em Portugal, especialmente brasileiros, este trabalho poderá contribuir para identificar o que ainda precisa ser feito para que as escolas e professores estejam ainda mais preparados para integrar esses alunos em sala de aula. Esperamos que esta pesquisa possa fornecer subsídios para o desenvolvimento de políticas públicas mais efetivas para a integração de imigrantes na sociedade portuguesa e para a promoção de uma educação intercultural mais inclusiva e equitativa.

In this dissertation, we seek to answer the question: "Interculturality in Portuguese Language Manuals in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education in Portugal - Is it a reality?" To do so, we defined important concepts such as migration (Barreto, 2005; Peixoto, 2007), multicultural model for immigrant integration (Marques, 2003; Blanc-Noel, 2009), immigrant integration policies in Portugal, language (Matheus, 2001), and culture (Sardinha and Machado, 2013), among other relevant topics for the research. Intercultural education was one of the key concepts to achieve the answer to our research question, along with the National Strategies for Citizenship Education and the Essential Learning Outcomes for Portuguese Language in the 3rd Cycle in Portugal. Through a qualitative research approach, we used school textbooks used in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education in Portugal for analysis, considering some important points for analysis, as well as the analysis of questionnaires applied to Portuguese Language teachers in the 3rd Cycle. We believe that due to the large number of Portuguese-speaking immigrants in Portugal, especially Brazilians, this work may contribute to identifying what still needs to be done so that schools and teachers are even more prepared to integrate these students in the classroom. We hope that this research can provide support for the development of more effective public policies for the integration of immigrants in Portuguese society and for the promotion of a more inclusive and equitable intercultural education.
