A tradução especializada nas diferentes áreas específicas do conhecimento: experiência em contexto de estágio na AP | Portugal

Abstract

Este relatório foi realizado no âmbito do quarto semestre do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue e tem como propósito apresentar e analisar as tarefas efetuadas no estágio curricular realizado na empresa AP | Portugal, entre os meses de janeiro e junho de 2022. Durante o estágio, realizei tarefas de tradução, pré-edição e pós-edição, sendo que os principais objetivos do mesmo eram o desenvolvimento dos conhecimentos linguísticos e da competência de tradução para a língua materna nas áreas da tradução especializada, bem como a aquisição de experiência profissional. Neste sentido, o presente relatório apresenta um enquadramento teórico no âmbito da Tradução Geral e Tradução Especializada, diferenciando as duas e colocando o foco, concretamente, na Tradução Especializada; da Norma ISO 17100; das Ferramentas de Tradução Assistida por Computador; e da Pós-Edição de Tradução Automática. Posteriormente, é também apresentada a descrição da empresa e das tarefas desenvolvidas, assim como uma análise e reflexão acerca do trabalho efetuado, com exemplos práticos retirados dos projetos realizados. Na análise dos projetos desenvolvidos, verifico que o acesso à revisão e o feedback recebido foram muito importantes para a minha evolução no decorrer do estágio curricular, também havendo, aqui, lugar para a menção de alguns aspetos que falharam. No final deste relatório, apresento as minhas considerações finais acerca do estágio curricular, do trabalho desenvolvido, da minha evolução e de toda a experiência formativa, no geral.

This report was written within the scope of the fourth semester of the Master's Degree in Translation and Multilingual Communication and its purpose is to present and analyze the tasks performed during the curricular internship carried out at AP | Portugal, between January and June 2022. During the internship, I performed translation, pre-editing and post-editing tasks, and the main goals of the internship were the development of linguistic knowledge and mother tongue translation competence in specialized translation areas, and the acquisition of professional experience. Therefore, this report presents a theoretical framework in the scope of General and Specialized Translation, differentiating both and focusing specifically on Specialized Translation; ISO Standard 17100; Computer-Aided Translation Tools; and Post-Editing of Machine Translation. Subsequently, a description of the company and the tasks developed is also presented, as well as an analysis and reflection of the work done. In the analysis of the projects developed, I verify that the access to revision and the feedback received were very important for my improvement during the curricular internship. I also mention some aspects that failed. At the end of this report, I present my final considerations about the curricular internship, the work developed, my evolution and the whole formative experience, in general.
