Literacia em saúde: desafios de tradução

Abstract

O presente relatório tem como principal objetivo dar a conhecer o estágio que foi realizado ao longo do primeiro semestre de 2022, no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue da Universidade do Minho. O estágio foi realizado remotamente, na empresa World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA), localizada na Suíça. A empresa tem como missão promover e proteger a saúde pública mundial. Fá-lo em todo o mundo através do apoio ao desenvolvimento de organizações de saúde pública, facilitando e apoiando o intercâmbio de informação, conhecimento e transferência de competências e recursos, e através da promoção e realização de ações de defesa de políticas, programas e práticas públicas que resultem num mundo saudável e produtivo. Primeiramente, irá ser realizada uma introdução à WFPHA, assim como um enquadramento teórico, no qual irá conter o resumo de alguns artigos da mesma área de tradução, para o qual o relatório foi baseado. De seguida, partindo de análise de dificuldade e problemas de tradução que surgiram ao longo do estágio, far-se-á uma reflexão sobre estratégias de tradução, incluindo as ferramentas utilizadas, e o trabalho terminológico.

The main purpose of the following report is to present the internship that was carried out during the first semester of 2022, within the scope of the Master's in Translation and Multilingual Communication. The internship was carried out remotely at the World Federation of Public Health Associations, located in Switzerland. The company's mission is to promote and protect public health worldwide. It does this worldwide by supporting the development of public health organizations, by facilitating and supporting the exchange of information, knowledge and transfer of skills and resources, and by promoting and advocating for public policies, programs and practices that result in a healthy and productive world. First, there will be an introduction to the company, as well as a theoretical framework, which will contain the summary of some articles from the same area of translation, for which the report was based. Next, based on the analysis of the difficulties and translation problems the student had during the internship, we will reflect on how the translator deals with the different areas, both in terms of terminology and the tools used.
