BIM: caracterização da evolução da oferta curricular e da produção científica, em Portugal

Abstract

Esta dissertação propõe a sistematização da informação existente, a partir da análise de duas tendências: a caracterização da produção científica e a caracterização da evolução da oferta curricular, no âmbito da temática BIM. Buscou-se entender como o processo de implementação BIM vem atuando no meio acadêmico, em Portugal, e identificar como ocorre a preparação dos futuros profissionais de engenharia e arquitetura, frente as necessidades de adaptação às novas exigências do mercado, consoante a implementação BIM, que se institui a nível global. Para o efeito, neste trabalho, foi utilizado o método de pesquisa em linha com o processo de revisão sistemática da literatura (RSL), com vista à caracterização da Produção científica acerca do BIM, em Portugal, fazendo uso de indicadores bibliometricos. Para a RSL, utilizaram-se três bases de dados bibliográficos: SciVerse Scopus, Web of Science, e RCAAP. O processo de caracterização da oferta curricular decorre, a partir da análise e identificação da existência de unidades curriculares (UC's), com abordagem na metodologia BIM, integradas nos planos curriculares das instituições de ensino e, também, das iniciativas praticadas pelas mesmas instituições, enquanto recursos de implementação do Ensino BIM. Ao medir a produtividade científica, os resultados indicaram que a Universidade do Minho, a Universidade de Lisboa e a Universidade do Porto são as instituições de ensino que apresentaram o maior número de publicações anual. Constatou-se que a adaptação da oferta formativa com uma abordagem BIM, pode induzir o número de produção, no âmbito da investigação científica sobre o tema. Assim, as mesmas instituições de ensino que se mostraram com os melhores resultados na produção científica, também se mostram mais ativas quanto à caracterização da evolução da oferta curricular. Os dados obtidos revelam que houve um crescimento da oferta formativa no âmbito BIM, representando uma evolução, não só, do reconhecimento das instituições de ensino, em adaptar seus currículos a temática BIM, de maneira que integrem os projetos de ensino das universidades, preparando seus discentes à uma melhor entrada no mercado de trabalho, como também, no processo de implementação BIM, a nível nacional.

This dissertation proposes the systematization of the existing information, from the analysis of the characterization of two trends, the scientific production, and the evolution of the curricular offer, within the BIM theme. The aim was to understand how the BIM implementation process has been acting in education, in Portugal, and to identify how the preparation of future professionals in engineering and architecture occurs, facing the needs of adaptation to new market demands, according to the BIM implementation, which is instituted globally. To this end, this work used the online research method with the process of systematic literature review (SLR), in order to characterize the scientific production about BIM in Portugal, using bibliometric indicators. For the RSL, three bibliographic databases were used: SciVerse Scopus, Web of Science, and RCAAP. The process of characterization of the curricular offer is based on the analysis and identification of the existence of course units (CU's), with approach in BIM methodology, integrated in the curricular plans of the education institutions and, also, of the initiatives practiced by the same institutions, as resources for the implementation of BIM education. By measuring the scientific productivity, the results indicated that the University of Minho, the University of Lisbon and the University of Porto are the education institutions that presented the highest number of annual publications. It was found that the adaptation of the training offer with a BIM approach, can induce the number of production, within the scope of scientific research on the subject. Thus, the same educational institutions that showed the best results in scientific production, also show to be more active regarding the characterization of the evolution of the curricular offer. The data obtained reveal that there was a growth in the supply of BIM training, representing an evolution, not only of the recognition of educational institutions, in adapting their curricula to the BIM theme, so that they integrate the teaching projects of universities, preparing their students to a better entry into the labor market, but also in the BIM implementation process, at a national level.
