Implementar realidade aumentada no turismo cultural: mapa turístico de Braga

Abstract

Atualmente, o turismo juntamente com as novas tecnologias tem-se constituído como uma componente que é capaz de proporcionar experiências únicas aos turistas. Braga encontra-se cada vez mais referenciado como um dos melhores destinos nacionais e internacionais, com uma grande oferta cultural e religiosa, desde o seu património arquitetónico à sua história envolvente. Por isso, é fundamental promover a sua cultura através das novas tecnologias. No presente relatório, apresentamos um projeto que alia estes dois setores (turismo e tecnologia): um mapa turístico em suporte papel com realidade aumentada (RA). O mapa contém locais de interesse da cidade de Braga e, através da tecnologia de RA, o turista tem a possibilidade de obter informações sobre o local no seu próprio telemóvel.

Nowadays, tourism together with new technologies has been constituted as a component capable of providing unique experiences to tourists. Braga is being referred to as one of the best national and international destinations, with a great cultural and religious offer, from its architectural heritage to its surrounding history. Therefore, it is essential to promote their culture through new technologies. In this report, we present a project that combines these two sectors (tourism and technology): a tourist paper map with augmented reality (AR). The map contains places of interest in the city of Braga and, through AR technology, the tourist is able to obtain information about the place on their mobile phone.
