Música tradicional açoriana: um recurso pedagógico nas aulas de guitarra clássica

Abstract

Este Relatório de Estágio foi elaborado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de Música da Universidade do Minho no ano letivo 2019/2020. A recolha de dados foi efetuada no Conservatório Regional de Angra do Heroísmo, sob a supervisão do Professor Doutor Ricardo Iván Barceló Abeijón e a cooperação do Professor José António Cardoso de Sousa com o tema Música Tradicional Açoriana: um Recurso Pedagógico nas Aulas de Guitarra Clássica. Pretendeu-se através do presente trabalho, verificar se o folclore açoriano poderá ter utilidade no ensino oficial de música, especialmente nas ilhas dos Açores. Para tal desenvolveu-se um trabalho que teve em conta os objetivos pedagógicos e as características tradicionais da música açoriana. Não houve possibilidade de efetuar o trabalho na sua medida inicial, devido à pandemia do coronavírus SARS-CoV-2 que decorreu no período da feitura do presente relatório. Pretendia-se verificar o resultado desta abordagem nas aulas de instrumento individuais e em grupo. Foi possível, no entanto, verificar que: o repertório da música tradicional açoriana não é praticamente utilizado no ensino oficial da música; todos os alunos no estudo demonstraram interessar-se pelo repertório folclórico e a grande maioria manifestou gostar de ouvi-lo; alguns objetivos pedagógicos foram atingidos com a utilização deste repertório. Porém, constatamos que muito necessitará de ser feito para a introdução de forma consistente deste género de repertório no ensino de música na guitarra clássica: elaboração de um manual didático, sessões de formação a pedagogos quanto à sua utilidade e o acesso às variadas gravações existentes. Salienta-se que para a elaboração desse manual seriam necessário realizar arranjos e transcrições em pauta com diferentes graus de dificuldade de interpretação e execução técnica, de modo a tornar possível a sua introdução no currículo habitualmente praticado no ensino oficial da guitarra clássica nos Conservatórios de Música nos Açores.

This Internship Report was prepared for the Master's Degree in Music Education at the University of Minho in the academic year of 2019/2020. Data collection was carried out at the Regional Conservatory of Angra do Heroísmo, under the supervision of Professor Ricardo Iván Barceló Abeijón and the cooperation of Professor José António Cardoso de Sousa with the theme Traditional Azorean Music: a Pedagogical Resource in Classical Guitar Classes. It was intended through the present work, to verify if the Azorean folklore could be useful in the oficial teaching, especially in the Azores islands. To this end, work was developed that took into account the pedagogical objectives and the traditional characteristics of Azorean music. It was not possible to carry out the work in its initial measurement, due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic that occurred during the period in which this report was written. It was intended to verify the result of this approach in individual and group instrument lessons. It was possible, however, to verify that: the repertoire of Azorean traditional music is practically not used in the official teaching of music; all students in the study showed interest in the folklore repertoire and the vast majority said they enjoyed listening to it; some pedagogical goals were achieved with the use of this repertoire. However, we note that much needs to be done to consistently introduce this kind of repertoire in classical guitar music education: preparation of a didactic manual, training sessions for pedagogues as to its usefulness and access to the various existing recordings. It should be noted that for the preparation of this manual, it would be necessary to carry out arrangements and transcriptions with different degrees of difficulty of interpretation and technical execution, in order to make it possible for its introduction into the curriculum usually practiced in the official teaching of classical guitar in Conservatories of Music in the Azores.
