Um olhar alemão sobre o Brasil: a hétero-imagem de um breve futuro (2010-2016)

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a obra do jornalista alemão Andreas Wunn, que publicou dois livros e dirigiu dois documentários sobre o Brasil entre os anos 2010 e 2016. O primeiro livro e o primeiro documentário foram publicados em 2013, antes do campeonato mundial de futebol, de 2014, quando os olhares estrangeiros voltavam-se para o Brasil e demonstrava grande euforia. Já no segundo livro e documentário, de 2014 e 2016 respetivamente, Wunn assume um posicionamento mais crítico e fundamentado a respeito do país de tão grandes dimensões e contrastes e avança para além dos estereótipos, procurando explicar o Brasil que não se confinaria apenas ao Rio de Janeiro. Procurou-se analisar a obra de Andreas Wunn como uma forma de Literatura de Viagem e também pelo viés da imagologia. Neste sentido, é importante a reflexão sobre a questão da imagem construída pelos alemães sobre o Brasil, que de alguma maneira segue uma longa tradição.

This paper aims at analyzing the work of German journalist Andreas Wunn, who published two books and directed two documentaries about Brazil between the years 2010 and 2016. The first book and the first documentary were released in 2013, before the World Cup in 2014, when foreign eyes turned to Brazil and great euforia could be noticed. In the second book and documentary, of 2014 and 2016 respectively, Wunn takes a more critical and reasoned position regarding the country of such large dimensions and contrasts and goes beyond the stereotypes, seeking to explain Brazil beyond Rio de Janeiro. This paper sought to analyze Andreas Wunn's work as a form of Travel Literature and also through the lens of imagology. It is important to reflect on the question of the image built by the Germans about Brazil, which in some way can be considered to follow a longlasting tradition.

Die vorliegende Arbeit zielt darauf ab, das Werk des deutschen Journalisten Andreas Wunn zu analysieren, der zwischen den Jahren 2010 und 2016 zwei Bücher veröffentlichte und zwei Dokumentarfilme über Brasilien drehte. Das erste Buch und der erste Dokumentarfilm wurden 2013 – vor der Fußballweltmeisterschaft 2014 – veröffentlicht, als sich die Augen des Auslands auf Brasilien richteten und große Euphorie zu spüren war. Im zweiten Buch und Dokumentarfilm von 2014 bzw. 2016 nimmt Wunn eine etwas kritischere und fundiertere Position gegenüber dem Land mit solch großen Dimensionen und Kontrasten ein und geht über die Stereotype hinaus, indem er versucht, Brasilien auch abseits von Rio de Janeiro zu erklären. Die vorliegende Arbeit versucht, Andreas Wunns Werk als eine Form der Reiseliteratur und auch durch die Linse der Imagologie zu analysieren. Dabei ist es wichtig, über das Bild, das sich die Deutschen von Brasilien im Laufe der Zeit gemacht haben, nachzudenken und es in gewisser Weise als ein in einer langen Tradition eingeschriebenes Fremdbild zu betrachten.
