recomendadas (Dunst, Bruder y Espe-Sherwindt, 2014).
Apoyo Familiar (FSS, Dunst, Trivette & Jenkins, 1984).
The main objective of this research was to study the relationship between the quality of early intervention services in Spain and the level of family empowerment. Early intervention should be comprised of family-centered practices, which are understood to be quality services and recommended practices (Dunst, Bruder, & Espe-Sherwindt, 2014). This study was focused on the effects of receiving family-centered early intervention services, especially considering that the family has more impact when the implementation is focused on the functioning of the family than if the intervention focused only on the needs of the child. For the data collection for this study, families completed the FINESSE Family Scale (McWilliam, 2015), which collects information on the practices implemented in early intervention services, the Family Empowerment Scale (FES, Koren, Dechillo, & Fieson, 1992), which measures family empowerment, and the Family Outcomes Scale (FOS, Bailey, 2010), which measures the desired results of early intervention. The research team developed the socio-demographic data, and, the support perceived by the family was measured through the Family Support Scale (FSS, Dunst, Trivette, & Jenkins, 1984). The validation of the all scales used in the Spanish population was carried out, to later develop the descriptive statistical analysis, the correlational analysis, the analysis of variance and the linear regression analysis. As a most significant result of this work, she highlight the positive relationship found between the level of family empowerment and family-centered practices, as other authors have suggested, but now, as a more significant predictor of family empowerment, has highlighted of social support network that the family has, and the diagnosis of the child, where higher levels of family empowerment have been observed when it comes to motor disorders, compared to minors when it is an autism spectrum disorder among others. |
