problema ambiental no mundo.
impacto e a deformação à rotura. The plastics from the 19th century have become one of the most used materials in various applications due to their excellent properties, however, due to poor management of post-consumer waste caused the final management of plastic waste are currently the most environmental problem worldwide. There are several solutions found to combat this poor management. Among the solutions found, the mechanical recycling is the best way to treat these post-consumer waste. In this study, we used four different types of recycled material from the various stages of mechanical recycling of polyethylene terephthalate, PET, and still a virgin grade of PET which will be used as a reference. Before, the materials can be processed and characterized, they passed through steps that helped in the processing phase. To evaluate the processability of the recycled materials we used in this study injection molding technique, the effect of the level of contamination and the effect of mold temperature in different molding parts were investigated. To characterize the materials was used the melt flow index test, MFI. To evaluate the obtained molds, optical, morphological and mechanical tests were used. For characterization of the materials, it was found that the recycled materials have less viscosity than the virgin material, the viscosity of the material decreases with increasing the level of contamination in the flakes. For characterization of the obtained moldings, the parts obtained from the recycled material are darker tonality and becoming darker with the increases the level of contamination. The differential scanning calorimetry, DSC, showed that the thermal properties are not affected, however, the crystallization temperature is favored in materials with higher level of contamination. The mechanical characterization tests showed that there is a deterioration in mechanical properties, however, for the less contaminated recycled was possible to obtain good results. Increasing the mold temperature caused crystallization of the parts, with this increase has resulted in loss of mechanical properties, especially in the impact resistance and the strain at break. |
