The growing number of university-enterprise (U-E) partnerships increases the need to evaluate their results and impacts. Effectively, these partnerships result in the dissemination and transfer of knowledge and technology that can benefit both partners. However, current literature considers that this analysis is hampered by the inexistence of agreed and established models that fully translate these results and impacts. In this sense, this study seeks to analyze the results and impacts of the Human Machine Interface Excellence (HMIExcel), a research and development (R&D) project promoted by Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal SA (Bosch) and the University of Minho (UMinho), through a conceptual model adapted to the project, which includes the technology transfer channels, the outputs and their impacts. In terms of impacts, these were only analyzed from UMinho's perspective. Additionally, this study displays metrics for each level of analysis. The results show that HMIExcel resulted in 12 patents and 162 technical reports and prototypes (deliverables). Besides the technologies of the different project sub-lines are in different phases of readiness levels, it has been found that most of the technology is at an initial level, although it already shows great potential for innovation. As to the knowledge generated, 38 scientific publications were produced whose impact, measured by the number of citations, is relatively significant and 18 dissertations, with a number of citations still reduced. Furthermore, 135 research grants were awarded and 60 new UMinho researchers were hired. There were 300 researchers involved in the total and 70 professors of UMinho. The success of the results achieved by HMIExcel consolidated the partnership, resulting in a new R&D project, INNOVATIVE Car HMI.
