Ensino a distância em Moçambique: avaliação de implementação da plataforma Moodle na Universidade Pedagógica-Delegação de Tete

Abstract

O modelo de educação a distância (EaD) e a utilização das tecnologias de informação e comunicação têm crescido de forma vertiginosa em todo o mundo desde a metade do século passado, ampliando e diversificando. Moçambique não fica de fora deste movimento, apesar de se encontrar numa fase embrionária. No âmbito desta pesquisa de mestrado, intitulada Ensino a Distância em Moçambique: Estudo Sobre a Avaliação de Implementação da Plataforma Moodle na Universidade Pedagógica-Delegação de Tete, procuramos estudar este tema, tendo como objetivo principal descrever os pontos fortes e fracos encarados pelos docentes e estudantes na utilização da plataforma moodle dos cursos de licenciatura na Universidade Pedagógica de Moçambique delegação da Tete, servindo de base para a elaboração de estratégias que melhorem a sua utilização procuramos estudar este tema, tendo como objetivo principal centrando a pesquisa na utilização das ferramentas da plataforma moodle nos cursos de educação a distância. A componente empírica envolveu dois estudos. No estudo fez-se um mapeamento de estudos sobre uso da plataforma moodle em contexto de ensino/aprendizagem no ensino superior; no estudo dois efetuou-se uma pesquisa survey sobre a EaD na Universidade Pedagógica, Delegação de Tete (UPTete). Neste segundo estudo optamos por uma metodologia quantitativa, entendendo que era a que melhor servia a concretização dos objetivos supracitada. Privilegiou-se a aplicação de um questionário impresso para ambos os atores, docentes e estudantes dos cursos em EaD na UPTete, acompanhada de análise documental. Os resultados demonstram que existe um bom relacionamento por parte dos envolvidos, mas que careçam de ajustes para responder às necessidades relacionadas com a utilização da plataforma moodle e à necessidade de capacitação para uso da mesma, para além da necessidade de melhorar a conexão da rede de internet, seja no país em geral, seja na região de Tete.

The model of distance education (EaD) and the use of information and communication technologies have grown in a vertiginous way throughout the world since the middle of the last century, expanding and diversifying. Mozambique is not left out of this movement, although it is at an embryonic stage. In the scope of this masters study, entitled Distance Learning in Mozambique: Study on the Evaluation of Implementation of the Moodle Platform at the Pedagogical University-Delegation of Tete, we sought to study this theme, with the main objective of describing the strengths and weaknesses faced by teachers and students in the use of the moodle platform of the undergraduate courses at the Pedagogical University of Mozambique delegation of Tete, serving as the basis for the elaboration of strategies that improve its use we seek to study this theme, having as main objective centering the research on the use of the moodle platform tools in distance education courses. The empirical component involved two studies. In the study, a mapping of studies on the use of the moodle platform in the context of teaching / learning in higher education was done; in the two studies a research was carried out on the EaD at Pedagogical University, Delegation of Tete (UPTete). In this second study we opted for a quantitative methodology, understanding that it was the one that best served the achievement of the aforementioned objectives. We were invited to apply a printed questionnaire to both actors, teachers and students of the courses in UPTete, accompanied by documentary analysis. The results show that there is a good relationship among those involved but they lack adjustments to respond to the needs related to the use of the moodle platform and the need for training to use it, besides the need to improve the connection of the Internet network, either in the country in general or in the region of Tete.
