Título: | Resolução de problemas no 1.º e 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico |
Outro(s) título(s): | Solving mathematical problems in the 1st and 2nd Cycle of Basic Education |

turma do 1.º ano do 1.
A metodologia implementada engloba o carácter qualitativo.
This internship report was developed within the scope of the the curricular unit Supervised Teaching Practice of the Masters course in Teaching of the 1st and 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. Its objective is to recognize the impact of the strategies used to solve problems in the processes taught in class, as well as to recognize which factors create the greatest difficulties for students during problem solving. To this end, the educational intervention was carried out in the academic year 2015/2016, in a 1st grade class of a group of schools in Braga and in the 5th grade class of a cooperative school, also in Braga. The implemented methodology had a qualitative nature. As for pedagogical strategies, the analysis and resolution of problems together (teacher and students) and the mobilization of knowledge acquired in class are evidenced. Data collection was done from several instruments such as: work done by the students, visual records of the interventions, observations and notes written by the researcher. In the recognition of the impact of the strategies used to solve problems in the processes taught in class, it was observed that the work in context of problem solving helped the students to consolidate their knowledge about the subject that was taught to the students during the classes. In the recognition of the factors that create the greatest difficulties for the students during problem solving, it was observed that the main difficulty was to perceive the problem statement, since most of the times they missed the exercises was due to not understanding the statement. As a recommendation, I think that math teachers should put more emphasis on problem solving (especially real-life problems) as early as possible, because working on problem solving and cementing the knowledge gained in the classroom will develop skills that will be very useful throughout the school course in the area of mathematics. |
