O multiculturalismo no ensino especializado da música

Abstract

O presente Relatório resulta de um Estágio realizado no Conservatório de Música de Barcelos, no contexto do Mestrado em Ensino de Música da Universidade do Minho. No mesmo procurou mostrar-se a importância de uma educação inter/multicultural na Escola dos nossos dias, como resposta a uma sociedade cada vez mais diversificada a nível cultural e étnico, destacando o papel que o ensino da música pode desempenhar nesse objectivo. Através da escolha, preparação e interpretação de 4 canções representativas de 4 diferentes continentes (Europa, Ásia, África e América), procurou oferecer-se aos alunos de uma turma do 6º ano da disciplina de Classe de Conjunto, uma diversidade de estilos e ambientes musicais diversificado, tentando proporcionar-lhes uma experiência enriquecedora e variada, não só a nível musical, mas também cultural. Em cada uma das músicas foi feito um enquadramento do tema retratado pela letra, procedendo-se à sua tradução e estabelecendo uma relação entre as mesmas e os hábitos, costumes e tradições dos vários países representados (Rússia, Japão, África do Sul e Brasil). Fez-se ainda uma descrição dos métodos que foram utilizados ao longo do estágio, sendo explicados os processos que levaram à tomada das diversas decisões, não só em relação à escolha das peças, mas também ao tipo de arranjo vocal utilizado e as decisões interpretativas que culminaram numa apresentação pública inserida numa audição final. Por se tratar de um Relatório de um Estágio inserido no contexto do Ensino Especializado da Música, foi também feita uma breve reflexão em torno das possibilidades de cada disciplina do currículo, como forma de demonstrar que todas estas podem, de alguma forma, contribuir para uma educação multicultural, despertando o interesse dos alunos para a riqueza intercultural de várias obras do repertório universal.

The present Report results of an Internship carried out at the Barcelos Music Conservatory, in the context of the Master’s degree in Music Teaching at the University of Minho during the academic year of 20015/2016. The main aim of this assignment was to show the importance of the offer of an inter/multicultural education by the Schools of our time, in response to a society in increasingly cultural and ethnical diversity, highlighting the important part music teaching might have in achieving these goals. Through the choice, preparation and interpretation of 4 songs, each representing different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and America), it was sought to offer the students of a sixth grade Choir Class a diversity of different music styles, and environments, trying to provide them with a rich and varied experience, not only on a musical level, but also on a cultural one. In each of the songs, a background was made of the theme represented by the words, proceeding to their translation and establishment of a connection between the words and the habits, costumes and traditions of the different represented countries (Russia, Japan, South Africa and Brazil), showing the students the reality there lived. It was also done a description of the methods used during the internship, explaining the procedures to the making of numerous decisions, not only in terms of repertoire choosing, but also in terms of the type of vocal arrangement and interpretative decisions that culminated in a public presentation inserted on a final audition. Because it is a Report of an Internship inserted in the context of Specialized Music Education, it was also done a short reflection around the possibilities of each subject of the curriculum, as a means to show that all these can, in some way, contribute to a multicultural education, arousing interest in the students for the intercultural richness of various works of the universal repertoire.
