do equivalente esférico a 30ᵒN. Myopia is a refractive modification of the eye that is reaching pandemic levels in some countries, with 80% prevalence in young populations. According to some studies, the prevalence is rising, and genetic inheritance cannot be defined as its single cause. Therefore, there are other factors responsible to the augmentation, in a large scale, of this type of ametropia. This work shows the results of a longitudinal study made during a year, aiming the analysis of possible refractive modifications, and if those can be correlated with changes in peripheral refraction, determine if there is any difference between gender and observe the differences in children under fifteen years and older than 15 fifteen years old. The sample was composed with 25 students, who were submitted to some exams with cycloplegia effect. These exams were measured with IOL Master and were able to determine the axial length (CA) and keratometry (Qx). The central and peripheral refractive errors (30°N to 30°T) were measured with an auto refractometer of open field. This work it was not possible showing that there are modifications in peripheral refraction of a year to another by refractive group. There is na evolution to myopia M=+0,09±2,99 on year of 2016 and M=-0,04±2,88D year of 2017. On one hand, these values are not statistically significant. On the other hand, it was possible to state that gender is a preponderant factor. Female gender showed a more myopic refractive error, M=-0,25±0,29, as male gender a more hyperopic refractive error, M=+0,08±0,21D. Regarding the influence of age on ocular parameters, there were statistically significant differences of 30ᵒN, spherical mean. |
