dc.description.abstract | Oral communication comprises one of the most important forms of social interaction. The process of learning the spoken language depends on the hearing, therefore, the total or partial loss of hearing sensitivity hinders such aspect. Digital signal processing techniques with non-invasive character are used for diagnosis, support and improvement of the voice quality of the deaf. Thus, the present study aims to propose and develop a system of analysis and correction of vocal disorders by means of visual and tactile feedback with module implemented in programmable device type FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). The results point to the potential of a proposed intervention as a helper for sensory substitution, being based on the monitoring and control of speech, in order to allow for the assessment and remediation by means of an electronic resource, allowing deaf individuals to obtain a support for learning the spoken language. The possibilities for improvements in communication skills observed in this study are dependent on the capability of the device together with the speech therapist, integrating therapies with the support of the family, the time and the motivation of the user, factors that cooperate for the success of this approach. | por |
