Improving the efficiency and energy performance of buildings, as well as the well-being of their occupants, is increasingly a concern of society. The use of renewable energy sources in buildings is also a goal defined in legislation at European level. It is to this extent that the analysis carried out in this dissertation was imposed, since it is necessary to integrate renewable energy systems in buildings. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to understand the viability of integrating solar systems, photovoltaic panels and solar collectors, in order to first address the energy needs for the production of hot water and heating, but also if possible the remaining energy needs of Residential buildings. In multifamily buildings, due to the lack of available roof area, it is necessary to consider other locations to place the solar systems, such as the southern façade of the building. With this work it can be verified that the integration of solar systems is feasible, as the objective of filling the needs for hot water, heating and still make available energy for the remaining components, being the renewable energy produced annually enough. It can also be verified that the integration of these systems is feasible from an economic point of view, with the return periods, from initial cost to solar systems, being reduced, releasing the families budget. At national level it contributes to the reduction of imports of non-renewable energy sources (especially petroleum products) and greenhouse gas emissions. This work also opens up the possibility for these systems to make buildings self-sufficient, renewable energy being produced on an annual basis sufficient to meet the energy needs of buildings (heating, cooling, hot water production, lighting and appliances). However, the costs of a building with almost zero energy needs (nZEB) will be higher than those of a conventional building (which meets the requirements of current legislation). |
