utilizada, consoante a idade.
emocionais. This study aimed to verify if there are alterations in the autobiographical memories in women with bulimia and anorexia nervosa, regarding the emotional verbal expression, according to age. It was hypothesized that women with eating disorders between the ages of 16 and 21 use less emotional expressions in the reporting of their memories, because emotional avoidance occurs. And women with eating disorders between the ages of 22 and 56 use more negative expressions in their memories, given the negative bias that develops with age. With a sample of 90 women, 4 groups were formed: older women’s with eating disorders, new women’s with eating disorders, older women’s without eating disorders, new women’s without eating disorders. They were asked to recall a sad and a happy event in order to compare the positive and negative verbal expressions used. Participants with eating disorders, regardless of age, used more negative expressions. This group also used more positive expressions than women without eating disorders, but the differences were not significant, except in sad autobiographical memories. Younger women used more words than the older ones to describe their memories, but there were no age differences in the number of emotional expressions. |
