no domínio político.
Adorno's Aesthetic theory is interpreted as a model of thought with a very peculiar feature which it has in common with other theories of modernity: that reason is not able to overcome aporias which are necessarily and essentially inherent to her. These aporias, dating back to a distinction made by Humboldt between systemic and individual power, constitute a major challenge to the philosophy of modernity. Combating the authors who, in one way or another, yielded to the temptation of diluting the aporias referred (e.g. Heidegger), Adorno pointed out the necessity and the duty to enduring the paradoxicality of human existence and the paradoxes inherent to the use of reason. It is precisely this impetus that gives Adorno’s aesthetic theory the peculiarity of a negative dialectic, apparent not only in strictly aesthetic areas, but also and especially in the political field. The critics of the second and third generations of the Frankfurt School itself (Habermas, Wellmer) defended a model of thought characterized by the primacy given to dialogue and communicative reason, which also goes back to Humboldt. It is suggested that the conflict between the models of Adorno and Habermas has not yet finished. |
