“Chove muito, chove excessivamente”: a chuva e a poética da sensação na chuva, em Álvaro de Campos e em Bernardo Soares

Abstract

Intitulada Chove muito, chove excessivamente: A chuva e a poética da sensação em Álvaro de Campos e em Bernardo Soares, esta dissertação visa a comparação de textos de Álvaro de Campos e Bernardo Soares, no que diz respeito a passagens sobre paisagens com chuva e que tratam a poética da sensação. Com o intuito de contextualizar o objeto de estudo deste trabalho, começa-se por estabelecer uma aproximação entre Campos e Soares no que diz respeito às suas poéticas. Seguidamente, é apresentado o uso da paisagem como tópico literário de modo a transmitir emoções ao leitor. Depois disso, analisa-se o uso do mesmo tópico na poesia ortónima de Fernando Pessoa, em Bernardo Soares e em Álvaro de Campos. É analisado o uso da paisagem no Livro do Desassossego e a forma como Soares o explora, num entrelaçamento com o espaço da chuva, estabelecendo a diferença que o sujeito faz relativamente a Amiel: enquanto este se sujeita a paisagens existentes como modelo das suas emoções, Soares constrói-as em adequação ao que pretende exteriorizar. Sobre Álvaro de Campos analisa-se os elementos da paisagem e o modo como o sujeito os usa para para transmitir as emoções, ao leitor. Por último, analisam-se as passagens onde a chuva ocupa um lugar central. Aqui são explorados trechos do Livro do Desassossego e da poesia de Campos, que demonstram a inquietação que surge perante os indícios da chuva e o desassossego, a tristeza e a melancolia que esta metaforiza. Por outro lado, mostra-se o uso do sol como símbolo de tranquilidade e felicidade. Como confirma esta dissertação, as descrições de paisagens de chuva, narradas ao longo de várias e longas passagens, constituem-se como processo de exteriorização das emoções interiores mais complexas e mínimas dos sujeitos.

It rains so much, it rains excessibly: the rain and the poetic emotion in Álvaro de Campos and Bernardo Soares is the title of a dissertation which seeks the comparison between texts of Álvaro de Campos and Bernardo Soares, when it comes to the landscapes of rain and the approach the poetic emotions. This dissertation intends contextualize the study object by creating a comparison between Campos and Soares is made, with relation of their poetics. Thereafter, it presents a few points of view about the literary the landscape’s topic. At this point, the use of the landscape is presented as a literary topic in order to translate emotions in the reader. Also, it is stablish the same topic in the Fernando Pessoa’s poetry, as well as the texts of Bernardo Soares e Álvaro de Campos. In the following matters, it proceeds the use of the landscape in the Livro do Desassossego (Book of Disquiet) and the way that Soares explores it, in an interlacement between the subject and the space of the rain, and establishing the differences that the poet makes towards Amiel: in stead of subjecting himself to the existing landscapes as model of his emotions, Soares makes his own, adapting them to what he intends to exteriorize. On the other hand, an analyses of Álvaro de Campos and the elements of the landscape poetic subject uses to pass on to the reader is made Finally, the texts where the rain delivers a central part is analyzed. At this point, the texts of O Livro do Desassossego and of Álvaro de Campos are analyzed intending to show the unrest that comes with the threat of rain and disquiet, the sorrow and melancholy that it metaphorizes. On the other hand, the use of the sun as a symbol of tranquility and happiness is shown. As this dissertation shows, the landscape's descriptions of the rain, narrated on the many texts, constitute as process of externalization of the interior emotions more complex and minimal of the subjects.
