A importância da improvisação e o seu papel na formação de jovens músicos: contexto de formação musical e história da cultura e das artes

Abstract

O presente Relatório de Estágio pretende ser um contributo para a abordagem da improvisação na formação de jovens músicos, otimizando a aprendizagem no que concerne a uma melhor compreensão harmónica ao nível da audição e contribuir para a renovação das práticas pedagógicas e estratégias metodológicas nesse âmbito. As metodologias utilizadas no ensino vocacional têm revelado lacunas no que respeita ao processo de ensino/aprendizagem, nomeadamente falhas relacionadas com a audiação e a compreensão da música em geral. Neste sentido, um dos objetivos deste trabalho resume-se em desenvolver competências auditivas que promovam a compreensão harmónica. A intervenção ocorreu no Conservatório do Vale do Sousa em Lousada, com alunos do ensino vocacional da música das disciplinas de Formação Musical e História da Cultura e das Artes. Numa primeira fase foram observadas as principais dificuldades dos alunos em ambos os contextos de intervenção e, de seguida, planificadas aulas recorrendo aos fundamentos da literatura existente para uma melhor implementação do tema pretendido. A segunda fase consistiu na aplicação do tema em sala de aula nos dois contextos: ao nível da Formação Musical foi realizado um treino ao nível auditivo enquanto em História da Cultura e das Artes foi elaborada uma síntese do desenvolvimento do conceito de improvisação ao longo da História da Música. A terceira e última fase consistiu na realização de um workshop de Improvisação Vocal, onde se juntaram os alunos da turma interveniente de Formação Musical, juntamente com uma outra turma que não teve qualquer contacto prévio com a prática em questão. Os resultados obtidos na atividade foram positivos uma vez que permitiram concluir que os alunos que tiveram contacto anterior com a improvisação revelaram mais facilidade em improvisar, no sentido em que compreendiam as progressões harmónicas no que respeita a música-familiar e não-familiar. Concluindo, os resultados finais foram positivos e permitiram concluir que a abordagem da improvisação, quando aplicada nestes contextos, melhora a compreensão da música em geral, contribui para uma maior motivação desenvolvendo a criatividade e, aquando da aprendizagem da audiação (Formação Musical), contribui para o desenvolvimento da improvisação vocal/melódica.

This report intends to be a contribution to the approach of the improvisation in the training of young musicians by optimizing their learning in relation with a better hearing harmonic understanding level as well as a renewal of teaching and methodological strategies in this area. The methodologies used in vocational education have revealed shortcomings regarding the teaching/learning process, particularly related to the audiation and understanding of music in general. In this regard, one of the objectives of this study boils down to developing auditory skills that promote harmonic understanding. The intervention took place at the Sousa Valley Conservatory, in Lousada, with students from the vocational teaching of music in the disciplines of Music Theory and History of Culture and Arts. Initially, the main difficulties of the students in both intervention contexts were observed and then lessons using the fundamentals of literature were planned concerning a better implementation of the intended subject. The second phase was the subject of the application in the classroom in two contexts: concerning the Musical Training a hearing workout was held, while in the History of Culture and Arts an overview of the development of the concept of improvisation was developed throughout the history from music. The second phase was subject of the application of the two contexts in classroom: a Musical Training at the hearing level while the History of Culture and Arts focused on the development of the concept of improvisation throughout the music history. The third and final phase consisted on the accomplishment of a Vocal improvisation workshop where students from the intervening Musical Training class and others who had no prior contact with the practice in question participated. The positive results showed that students who had previous contact with the improvisation proved easier to improvise once they understood the harmonic progressions regarding familiar and unfamiliar music. In conclusion, the positiveness of the final results allowed us to conclude that within these contexts the improvisation approach made the understanding of music in general easier and possible, thus contributing to a greater motivation by developing creativity and allowing the development of vocal/melodic improvisation upon the audiation learning (Music Theory).
