2. Quais as estratégias de resolução que
utilizam? 3.
No entanto, destacase,
This internship report presents part of an intervention and investigation that occurred on a second grade class of students, focused on the resolution and formulation of mathematical problems. This paper seeks to understand the resolution procedures established by the students during the different educational experiences and answer the following questions: 1. The way children think about the problems and strategies in order to find the resolutions? 2. Which solving strategies they use? 3. To what extent, the activities that took place influenced the procedure of resolution of the students? The interest in these questions, defined at the beginning of the research, isn’t just personal, it arose after some concerning fragilities observed on the field work, such as the weaknesses of the students at solving the problems and their resolution strategies. The methodology that was chose was the research-action, following a plan composed by these subsequent stages: planning, action, observation (evaluation) and reflection (theorizing). Concerning the intervention plan, it began with an initial assessment, in order to understand the meanings attributed by the students about the resolution problems and its difficulties. Then, it followed some moments of intervention, in which the planned tasks had a progressive degree of difficulty. In the last phase of the project, it was held a final evaluation, retaking, equivalent didactic situations used previously, in order to analyse the skills acquired by the students during the second phase. Throughout the intervention, it is established that the work would be done in groups of two or more students, in order to record the effects of different teaching strategies. In terms of results, it is possible to verify an increasing evolution concerning the usage and acquisition of different resolution strategies and interpretation/comprehension of the different pedagogical strategies. On the other hand, the results show that students are not accustomed to the tasks of problem formulation, revealing sometimes, a return to less efficient procedures associated to some particular tasks. However, it is possible to point out, that in general, the receptivity, the commitment and interest of students and the development of independent thought during the implementation of the resolution of tasks and formulation problems on the working methods are diverse. |
