| Resumo(s): | Prevention through design phase implementation is one of the major concerns in recent years and not fully achieved due to several factors such as the lack of safety culture. In a first phase the article will expose a historical analysis of the subject. Subsequently it will exposed examples of good practices of the Project Owner and Designer and finally it will be given, for the two main underground excavation methods (TBM and NATM), some examples of design options that reflect a proper integration of prevention at this stage. |
