A concentração na prática instrumental do piano: métodos e estratégias de apoio ao estudo

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio está inserido no âmbito da unidade curricular de Estágio Profissional, tendo este sido realizado no Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga, no qual foi levado a cabo um estudo sobre a concentração dos alunos na prática instrumental do piano. Este projeto consistiu num estudo de caso múltiplo realizado aos alunos intervenientes no projeto de intervenção pedagógica, delineado numa primeira fase deste estágio. O relatório está dividido em duas partes essenciais. Na primeira, faz-se uma caracterização do contexto de intervenção pedagógica – instituição e alunos; um enquadramento teórico acerca da temática escolhida, para melhor entender a importância da concentração no estudo e preparação de um estudante de piano; e ainda uma contextualização sobre o projeto de intervenção pedagógica, delineado no início do estágio (Dezembro de 2013), em que se descrevem os objetivos inicialmente planeados, as estratégias de apoio à concentração e as alterações feitas no mesmo. Na segunda parte, com o intuito de se entender se, para além de fundamental no estudo, a concentração pode ser trabalhada e treinada para alcançar melhores resultados académicos e profissionais, apresenta-se uma série de testes psicológicos realizados, recorrendo a uma ferramenta psicológica, o Vienna Test System, e ainda a um inquérito, em que os alunos responderam a várias questões específicas. Por fim, foi elaborado o presente relatório onde são apresentados os dados, os resultados, e as conclusões.

This report is the result of the internship carried out within the Professional Training curricular unit, which took place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory, in Braga. During this training, a study has been conducted on the students’ concentration abilities within the piano’s instrumental practice. This project consisted of a multiple case study, put through with the participating students in the pedagogical intervention project, which was designed at an early stage of this training. This report is divided in two main parts: In the first part of this report, a description of the context – institution and students –, in which the pedagogical intervention will take place is carried out; a theoretical framework regarding the chosen theme is given, in order to fully understand the importance of concentration within the preparation and study tasks of a piano student; there follows the contextualization of the pedagogical intervention project, previously outlined in the early beginning of the training (December 2013), in which the goals previously planned, the attention supporting strategies and their subsequent changes are fully described. In the second part of this report, in order to fulfil the study’s fundamental perception of the importance of whether or not concentration can be measured and improved so to achieve better academic and professional results, a series of psychological tests carried out recurring to the Vienna Test System are assessed, together with a specific multi-question students’ survey. Finally, this report was written, in which data, results, and conclusions are presented.
