Alterações do uso do solo na serra de Montemuro no século XX

Abstract

Procede-se neste trabalho à análise da evolução do uso do solo na Serra de Montemuro ao longo do século XX, procurando-se identificar os fatores responsáveis pelas dinâmicas observadas. Com base em documentos cartográficos referentes a diferentes momentos ao longo do período em estudo identificam-se as transformações ocorridas no uso dado ao solo, constatando-se um progressivo abandono do espaço agrícola em favor de outras ocupações.

In this paper we intent to analyse the evolution of land use in the Serra de Montemuro over the twentieth century, seeking to identify the factors responsible for the observed dynamics. Based on cartographic documents relating to different moments during the considered period are identified the transformations occurred in the use made of the soil, confirming a progressive abandonment of agricultural space in favour of other uses.
