In today's society the phone has assumed an importance that goes beyond their individual use to communicate, and to prove it we have the results of various educational experiences that reveals its potential to improve the teaching and learning process. It is in this context of (r)evolution that arises Mobile Learning, and associated with that the Mobile Location-Based Games, or Urban Games, which are games mediated by mobile devices that are relate to the location/user mobility and provide a real learning context. Also begin to assert itself QR codes that enable the democratization of learning spaces dilating the physical boundaries of the traditional classroom, enabling new educational approaches that combine formal and informal in practices of pedagogical innovation. This research aims to present the process of designing, implementing and evaluating an Urban Game, the MobiGeo, thus seeking to give a theoretical and practical contribution to bridging the failure, reported in the literature, of a theoretical model aimed to study the Mobile learning in informal learning environments. The "MobiGeo" was created in partnership with the Knowledge House of Vila Verde and the School EB 2,3 of Vila Verde, the theme was the "European Union" and involved all classes of the 7th grade, in a total of 173 students. To assess the impact of MobiGeo was adapted a questionnaire, that evaluate three dimensions that are associated with educational games: Motivation/Interest, Interaction and Perceived Learning. The results reveals that the MobiGeo is an Urban Game set for use in informal learning environments and students involved in the game showed high levels of motivation and interaction, which positively influenced their perceptions of learning. We also found that the inclusion of Qr codes, even if an unknown application of most students, could encourage students to discover new content, enabling the fusion between real and virtual world. |
