Resumo(s): | The use of educational games as a learning resource is a trend that has spread to more advanced educational levels which include school subjects with a strong experimental component. The initial stages of the Chemistry subject in the 7th grade go hand in hand with the acquisition of new skills, among which a new lexicon, as well as new rules and models. Using educational games along with other teaching activities promotes the attainment of developmental competences at the cognitive, linguistic and social levels. Educational games hove thus proved to be very useful for the enhancement of the teaching-learning process, and the development of personal interaction skills, contributing to the promotion of success within students in an inclusive education system. In this work we present the construction and application of an educational game entitled "Chemistry Race", used as a teaching resource in the consolidation of knowledge within the school subject "Chemical Reactions" in the 8th grade. This resource is an additional educational practice that promotes a more interactive and dynamic class environment, which results in the improvement of students' motivation and focus in the acquisition of the contents of this subject. |
