Resumo(s)Two yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) floe populations of different ages were analysed. The results showed a variability of 9 - 12 % for the single floe mean area, 6 - 7 % for the number of single floes and 5 - 6 % for the total number of floes. Also aggregates of two floes (doublets) and three floes (triplets) were enumerated. The validity of the method was checked by analysing the parameters of interest as function of the threshold. The constant correlation between the parameters and the threshold showed the consistency of the method.
