The fusion as a process of organizational change it is hard to lead, mainly because it covers most of the organization sectors. It stands out its influence on human resources and cultural perspectives, as this is interesting for those who make it and threatening to those whom the change is made. The organizational culture is understood as the personality of an organization and the union of two distinct organizational cultures can have a decisive role in the success or failure of the change. With this work we intend to analyze the types of culture of two health organizations prior to their merger as well as the factors that facilitated and hindered the process. We also identified the leaders during the change occurred and found to what extent the new merged culture promoted the consolidation of this change. For this we carried out a qualitative study in which the target population belonged to a clinical laboratory. Data collection was performed by using interviews, guided by an Interview Guide prepared based on the literature and subsequently analyzed by interpreting the answers given by the respondents. This study revealed that on one hand the typology of the organizational culture of a healthcare organization can be crucial to the consolidation of the process of change, and also that in a case of this kind, regardless of organizational culture, it is essential a proper communication strategy with the employees of the organizations involved.
