mesma época trabalhavam as mesmas temáticas, contribuindo
disperso. Photography as a stimulus of architectonic thought – Referent images in Learning from Las Vegas is a study about the evolution of photography and its contribution as a booster to theoretical studies in the field of architecture. It is intended with this Master's Dissertation understand the photographic antecedents of Learning From Las Vegas – from Robert Venturi, Denise Scott Brown and Steven Izenour – a landmark in architectural theory; and, looking at photography throughout history, knowing the work of several photographers who marked their different eras, but especially, presented new perspectives about the city or about the way we look at the city, from the periphery to the urban center, from the industrial vernacular to the commercial vernacular, from the dirt road to the US Interstate Highway. This study also seeks to find points of convergence between Learning from Las Vegas and the work of his contemporary photographers such as Edward Ruscha or the interveners in the 1975 exhibition, New Topografics, who, at that time, worked on the same subjects, helping to create a specific look about this dispersed territory. |
