A importância do documentário na aula de História e da reportagem na aula de Geografia no ensino básico e secundário

Abstract

O presente relatório insere-se no âmbito do Estágio Profissional do Mestrado em Ensino de História e Geografia no 3.º ciclo do Ensino Básico e Secundário. O estudo foi realizado em duas turmas distintas do 9.º ano de escolaridade, numa escola do núcleo urbano da cidade de Braga. Este estudo teve como principal objetivo saber se o documentário e a reportagem televisivos são artefactos válidos na construção do conhecimento histórico e geográfico. Nele foi discutida a aprendizagem de temáticas específicas, respetivamente, a agricultura biológica na aula de Geografia, e a 2ª Guerra Mundial na aula de História. Foi também abordada a relevância e a validade do uso de artefactos mediáticos no quotidiano escolar, alertando-se para a necessidade de os selecionar e explorar de uma forma crítica e ativa, tendo presente as suas intenções políticas e educacionais. Discutiu-se, assim, o seu uso como fonte e recurso didático como alternativa e ou complemento aos discursos do manual escolar e do professor. Os dados foram recolhidos através de fichas de trabalho cujo objetivo foi fazer a confrontação das ideias prévias, recolhidas oralmente em diálogo com os alunos, com o conhecimento histórico e geográfico aprendido através dos recursos mediáticos referidos. A análise das respostas foi feita através do uso de perfis que tinham por objetivo diferenciar as respostas dos alunos mediante a sua complexidade, tendo sido expressa em tabelas que ilustram a frequência com que as mesmas ocorriam em cada uma das perguntas das respetivas fichas. O objetivo desta análise de dados era compreender qual o impacto que a reportagem ou o documentário, conforme a disciplina, teria na construção do conhecimento dos alunos e qual a sua evolução.

This report falls under the Professional Stage of the Master in Teaching History and Geography in third Cycle of Basic and Secondary Education. The study was conducted in two distinct groups of ninth grade school in the urban core of the city of Braga. This study aimed to know if the documentary and reportage television are valid artefacts in the construction of historical and geographical knowledge. In it was discussed learning specific subjects, respectively, organic farming in Geography class, and the Second World War in history class. It was also discussed the relevance and validity of the use of media artefacts in everyday school, alerting to the need for exploring and selecting a in critical and active way, referring to its political and educational intentions. It was argued, therefore, its use as a source and a teaching resource or as an alternative and complement to the speeches of the textbook and the teacher. Data were collected through worksheets aimed to make the comparison of previous ideas, taken orally in dialogue with the students, with historical and geographical knowledge learned through the media outlets reported. The analysis of the responses was done through the use of profiles that were intended to differentiate the responses of the students by its complexity, has been expressed in tables that illustrate the frequency with which they occurred in each of the questions of the respective chips. The purpose of this data analysis was to understand what impact the report or documentary, as the discipline, would have in the construction of knowledge of the students and what their evolution.
