As PME - financiamento e insolvência: estudo de caso português

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio enquadra-se no âmbito do Mestrado em Economia Monetária, Bancária e Financeira da Escola de Economia e Gestão da Universidade do Minho. O estágio que esteve na base do relatório realizou-se na empresa DAVIDAGO – Gestão e consultoria Lda e teve a duração de quatro meses. O principal objetivo do presente relatório consiste em investigar e aprofundar o conhecimento sobre as Pequenas e Médias Empresas Portuguesas, a sua evolução, o seu financiamento, degradação e consequente insolvência. Para o sucesso deste relatório, tornou-se imprescindível tomar um conhecimento direto e prático da realidade das Pequenas e Médias Empresas, o qual foi adquirido durante o estágio. Neste relatório, tentaremos fazer o contraponto entre o conhecimento prático e o conhecimento teórico desenvolvido no âmbito do Mestrado. O tecido empresarial português é composto na sua grande maioria por Micro, Pequenas e Médias Empresas, que têm nestes últimos anos enfrentando imensas dificuldades. As Pequenas e Médias Empresas têm, em comparação com as Grandes Empresas, maiores dificuldades de acesso a fontes de financiamento, sendo o crédito bancário a principal fonte de financiamento das empresas portuguesas. Para tal, é fundamental um bom relacionamento entre o setor bancário e o setor empresarial português. A degradação da situação económico-financeira das empresas, que resulta principalmente de má gestão, estratégias erradas, dificuldades de financiamento e financiamentos desadequados ao perfil da empresa, tem vindo a ser acompanhada por uma forte tempestade macroeconómica recessiva que contribui para uma queda do investimento e do consumo e consequente quebra de volume de negócios das empresas. Tudo isto resulta no uso frequente pela nossa comunicação social da palavra Insolvência.

The present internship report lies within the Master in Financial Banking and Monetary Economics in the School Economics and Management, University of Minho. The internship upon which this report is made took place in the company DAVIDAGO - Management and Consulting Ltd. and had the duration of four months. The main goal of the present report is to investigate and deepen one’s knowledge of the Portuguese Small and Medium Enterprises, their evolution, their financing, degradation and consequent insolvency. The success of this report has required a direct and practical knowledge of the reality of the Portuguese Small and Medium Enterprises, which has been acquired during the training. In this report, we will try to make a counterpoint between the practical knowledge and the theoretical knowledge developed under the Master. The majority of Portuguese firms are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises that have in the last few years faced immense difficulties, one of them consisting in their financing. The Small and Medium Enterprises have, in comparison with large enterprises, greater difficulties in accessing funding sources, banking credit being their main source of funding. Because of this, a good relationship between the banking sector and the entrepreneurial Portuguese sector is fundamental. The degradation the economic and financial situation of firms, which results mainly from bad management, wrong strategies, difficulties in financing and financing which is not adjusted to enterprise profile has come to be accompanied by a strong macroeconomic recession, which contributes for a fall in investment and consumption, and consequently decrease the turnover of firms. All this results in the use by our media of a very trendy word: Insolvency.
