projetos que visam colmatar as desigualdades sociais.
Cooperation is the result of the collective action between different intervention agents with the intent of joining efforts in order to achieve common goals. The cooperation actions between the Third Sector Organisations and Profitable Companies have played a very important role in terms of social and economic unbalance decrease within the present society. This study seeks to understand the real motivations from both partners to establish cooperation whilst analysing the relevance of this cooperation to the economic and social sustainability and pondering the its benefits. The sample comprises 71 Third Sector Organisations and 54 Profitable Companies, distributed through all the country that were required to fill in an enquiry. Evidence unveil that small associations are the most representative ones in view of their legal nature and that their main sources of revenue are donations. However, companies with greater representativeness are the large ones in the commerce sector. Still, one may infer that cooperation brings benefits and thus favour both Profitable Companies and the Third Sector Organisations. Insofar the Profitable Companies are concerned, cooperation promotes and steers their interaction with the community and enhances their business image; as for the latter ones, it contributes to their sustainability whilst allowing for the development of new projects that aim to address social inequalities. In addition, the cooperation allow for the realisation of social and economic sustainability of social origin projects, individual or group oriented in a situation of vulnerability and social exclusion. Hence, this study was developed in order to meet the theoretical purposes. |
