Tomaz de Figueiredo: um olhar (analítico) sobre a língua e a nação portuguesas

Abstract

O estudo que concebemos no âmbito da investigação no campo literário e cultural foca essencialmente a peculiar visão que nos é apresentada por Tomaz de Figueiredo na abordagem aos usos da língua portuguesa e ao estado social e ideológico da nação. Tomaz de Figueiredo surge num ambiente cultural e literário comprometido com a apologia da nação e da terra, sobrevalorizando o campo, a província e o povo, símbolos pátrios incólumes às transformações sociais de uma multiculturalidade iminente. Sobrevoamos a sua obra literária com o intuito de nela identificar as estéticas, mas também os ideais, quer no que respeita à literatura, quer no que respeita à cultura nacional e, inevitavelmente, à língua portuguesa. Apaixonado pela sua língua materna e dedicado à cultura nacional, Tomaz de Figueiredo é um escritor multifacetado e sempre surpreendente que nos leva, através das suas obras, ao deleite pela mestria da sua escrita, ao riso pela seu oportuno humor e à inquietação pela sua desconcertante ironia face às (des)graças nacionais. Analisamos ao longo deste trabalho de investigação de que forma o autor que estudamos se expressa face aos mais diversos temas que envolvem ou afetam, ora a língua portuguesa, ora a pátria que a consome.

The study that we conceive in the context of research in the literary and cultural field focuses essentially on the peculiar vision that is presented to us by Tomaz de Figueiredo in the approach at the uses of the portuguese language and the social and ideological state of the nation. Tomaz de Figueiredo appears at a cultural and literary environment, commited to the defense of the nation and the land, over valuating the fields, the province and their people, as patriotic symbols which are unscathed to the social changes of an imminent multiculturalism. We have been overflying about his literary work in order to identify, trough it, the aesthetic aspects, as well the ideals, as regards the literature, the national culture and, inevitably, the Portuguese language. Passionate about their mother language and dedicated to national culture, Tomaz de Figueiredo is a multifaceted writer and always surprising, which takes us through his works, to the delight of his writing prowess, to laughter by his timely humor and to disquiet through his disconcerting irony in face of the national (dis)graces. We analyze along this study how Tomaz de Figueiredo expresses himself regarding the most diverse topics that involve or affect, either the portuguese language, either the homeland that consumes her.
