Agressividade em crianças : um estudo em contexto pré-escolar

Abstract

Nos últimos anos, tem-se vindo a verificar um interesse público nas questões relativas ao bullying na escola, sendo os recreios, espaços de desenvolvimento das crianças, que representam uma parte importante do dia escolar, torna-se urgente dedicar mais atenção ao que ocorre nestes mesmos espaços. Apesar de muito ser dito em termos do 1ºCiclo, pouco se tem vindo a estudar acerca do que ocorre em contexto pré-escolar. Este estudo tem como objectivo, verificar se ocorrem comportamentos agressivos durante as actividades nos espaços de recreio, desenvolvidas no pré-escolar. Tem ainda a finalidade de verificar, se o espaço de recreio (com equipamentos fixos, sem equipamentos e com equipamentos móveis), o género e as dimensões exercem influência nos comportamentos agressivos. Para a recolha de dados, num primeiro estudo, foram utilizados questionários a educadores e entrevistas às crianças, através dos quais obtivemos a amostra para um segundo estudo. Neste segundo estudo, as crianças foram filmadas em três parques distintos, em sessões de 20 minutos, depois estas sessões foram analisadas de forma a verificar se existiram comportamentos agressivos. O estudo foi realizado na aldeia de Montalvo, com uma amostra constituída por trinta e duas crianças entre os três e os cinco anos, no estudo inicial. Após o estudo inicial, seleccionamos dez crianças no segundo estudo, com idades compreendidas entre os quatro e os cinco anos para serem observadas no recreio. Considerando os resultados obtidos, podemos concluir que o recreio é o espaço onde há maior predominância do bullying. Concluímos ainda, que o género e o tipo de espaço influenciam a prática do bullying, contudo relativamente às dimensões do espaço não podemos verificar se influência ou não, pois o factor que influência é o tipo de brincadeira e não as dimensões dos espaços.

In the last years, a public interest has increased in issues related to bullying at school. In fact, the playgrounds represent an important part of the school day, considered as a space for children’s development. So, it becomes essential to dedicate more attention to what happens in the playgrounds. Actually, not much has been said in what occurs in the pre-school context, in opposition to the primary school level. This study aims to determine whether aggressive behavior occurs during the activities in preschool playgrounds. It also aims to verify if the playground (with fixed equipment, without equipment, with mobile equipment), gender and size influence aggressive behavior. In a first study questionnaires were made to educators and interviews on children, for data collection. The obtained information was used for a second study. In this second study, children were videotaped in three different playgrounds in 20 minute sessions. After this, the sessions were analyzed in order to verify whether there were aggressive behaviors. This study was done in the village of Montalvo, in the initial study with a sample of thirty-two children ( 3 to 5 year old). Afterwards, for the second study we selected ten children (aged 4 to 5) to the observation on the playground. According to the obtained results, we conclude that the playground is the space where there is a higher prevalence of bullying. We also conclude that gender and type of space influence the bullying. However in what concerns the size of the space, it is not proved that the size of the space influences, because the main factor that influences is the kind of games.
