Redes industriais de fornecimento no sector automóvel: estudo de uma rede de fornecedores da Delphi Grundig

Abstract

Esta dissertação aborda as redes industriais na perspectiva da sua dinâmica temporal, área de estudo em que o corpo teórico estabelecido é relativamente escasso. Incide sobre o estudo dos factores que determinam a evolução das redes ao longo do tempo. Utiliza o método de estudo de caso sobre uma rede cliente-fornecedores no sector de componentes automóvel, uma vez que este sector se presta a intrincadas redes de relações, sendo por isso um excelente campo para o estudo das redes industriais. Conclui que existe uma certa estabilidade nas redes industriais, mas há factores que determinam a sua evolução, por motivos internos a essa rede e também por factores ambientais, alguns ligados entre si e outros independentes. Adicionalmente, as eras de estabilidade ambiental favorecem a evolução incremental da rede e as eras de maior turbulência favorecem alterações radicais. Por outro lado, apesar de sabermos que existem eventos que reforçam a estrutura da rede e outros que fragilizam essa estrutura, frequentemente a complexidade, ou mesmo impossibilidade de prever as consequências desses eventos não nos permite antecipar essas consequências. Apesar disso, a empresa deve fazer em permanência uma avaliação do contexto, do ambiente e da sua posição na rede de forma a adaptar a sua estratégia.

This dissertation deals with industrial networks in terms of their temporal dynamics, the study area in which the theoretical set is relatively sparse. It focuses on studying the factors that determine the evolution of networks over time. It uses the method of case study on a client-suppliers network in the automotive components sector, since this sector lends itself to intricate networks of relationships and is therefore an excellent field for the study of industrial networks. Concludes that there is some stability in industrial networks, but there are factors that determine their evolution, for reasons internal to that network and also by environmental factors, some linked and others independent. Additionally, the eras of environmental stability favor the incremental evolution of the network and the more turbulent eras favor radical changes. Moreover, although we know that there are events that reinforce the network structure and others that weaken the structure, often the complexity or even impossibility to predict the consequences of these events does not allow us to anticipate these consequences. Nevertheless, the company must continuously evaluate the context, the environment and its position in the network to adapt its strategy.
