Diferenças de estilos de vida entre populações jovens de meio rural (Boticas) e de meio urbano (Braga) : análise de concepções, de valores e de práticas

Abstract

Os estilos de vida (E.V.) entendidos com vector fundamental na construção da saúde e qualidade de vida constituem o cerne deste trabalho de investigação. Nele, procurou-se verificar em que medida os factores geofísicos, socioeconómicos infraestruturais, culturais e interesse político interferem no desenvolvimento dos E.V. Para tal foi constituída uma amostra de 800 alunos, sendo que 400 são de meio rural (Concelho de Boticas) e outros 400 são de meio urbano (Cidade de Braga). Na amostra, tanto o meio rural como o meio urbano estão representados com 100 alunos do 1º ano de escolaridade e 100 alunos de cada um dos anos terminais de ciclo que compõem o ensino básico (4º, 6º e 9º anos de escolaridade). Para a recolha de dados foi construído de raiz um questionário composto por 11 eixos, 6 temas de investigação e uma pergunta aberta sobre sexualidade. Os eixos e os temas de investigação foram criados com vista a se conhecerem as concepções, os valores, os conhecimentos e as práticas que influenciam os estilos de vida (E.V) dos jovens de meio rural e de meio urbano. Os eixos abordam os seguintes aspectos implicados nos estilos de vida: A hierarquia das necessidades (modelo de Maslow); A atitude perante a sexualidade; A ocupação dos tempos livres; Os valores (conservadores e liberais); O “ser” e o “parecer”, o “individual” e o “social”, o “ego” e o “ super ego”; A vivência do quotidiano; O conhecimento, o comportamento, as preocupações e a atitude crítica; Os hábitos de consumo; A alimentação, a higiene e a segurança; A percepção sobre a emigração; A percepção sobre o emprego e sobre o trabalho. Os temas de investigação a serem seleccionados pelos inquiridos e que são compostos por imagens, comportam os seguintes aspectos influenciadores dos estilos de vida: Amor; Poder; Saúde; Liberdade; Alimentação e Factores condicionantes do futuro (fome, guerra e drogas). Na pergunta aberta sobre sexualidade, foi pedido aos alunos que escrevessem o aspecto da sexualidade e da saúde reprodutiva que mais gostariam de ver trabalhado em profundidade nas aulas de Estudo do Meio, Ciências da Natureza e Biologia. Os dados obtidos foram trabalhados no programa informático “SPSS” e mostram claramente que jovens com as mesmas características (idade, sexo, escolaridade, religião e estrutura familiar) apresentam concepções e percepções diferentes sobre estilos de vida em 122 das 168 vaiáveis em estudo, pelo facto de pertencerem a meio rural ou a meio urbano.

The lifestyles (L.S.) understood as the backbone in the construction of a healthy quality of life, constitute the heart of this investigative work. In it, we tried to verify how factors like, geophysics, socio-economics, infrastructures, cultural and political interest interfere in the development of L.S. For such, an example was built of 800 students. 400 students were from the rural area of (Concelho de Boticas) and the other 400 students were from the urban city of (Cidade de Braga). In this example, the rural area as well as the urban area are represented by 100 students each from the 1st year of schooling and 100 students from the finishing years of compulsory education (4th, 6th and 9th grade). In order to assemble information a questionnaire was made with 11 axle’s, 6 subjects of investgation and 1 open question about sexuality. The axle’s and the subjects of investigation were created in order to understand the conceptions, the values, the knowledge and the ways that influence the lifestyles (L.S.) of these youth’s from both the urban and rural areas. The axle’s include the following implicated aspects of the lifestyles: the hierarchy of necessities (Maslow style); the attitude towards sexuality; the occupation to free time; the values (conservative and liberal); the “am”, the “would like”, the “individual”, the “social”, the “ego” and the “super ego”; the daily living; the knowledge; the behaviour; the worries and the criticism attitude; the consumption habits; the eating; the hygiene and the security; the perception about emigration; the perception about employment and work. The subjects of investigation that will be selected by the inquiry that are composed by images, bring the following influential aspects of the lifestyles: Love; Power; Health; Freedom; Food; and factors that condition the future (hunger, war and drugs). In the open question about sexuality, the students were asked to write the aspects of sexuality and reproductive health that they would like to explore in detail during lectures, Natural Science and Biology. The obtained data was introduced in to a program system “SPSS” which clearly shows that the youth’s with same characteristics (age, sex, schooling, religion, and family structure) shows a different conception and perception concerning the lifestyle in 122 of the 168 variables in the study by the fact of belonging to the rural or urban environment.
