Concepções criacionistas e evolucionistas de professores em formação e em exercício

Abstract

O presente estudo tem por objetivo analisar as concepções que grupos de professores do interior do Estado de São Paulo – Brasil tem sobre o tema evolução, em particular as suas concepções evolucionistas e criacionistas. A coleta de dados foi feita tendo como base um questionário elaborado no âmbito do projeto europeu de investigação Biohead-Citizen (Educação em Biologia, Saúde e Ambiente para uma melhor Cidadania - FP6, CIT2-CT2004-506015). Buscou-se investigar as opiniões ou reações dos professores sobre a origem da vida e da humanidade e identificar a possível influência dos valores e das práticas sociais de referência nas respostas obtidas. Análises correlacionadas envolvendo das concepções dos professores de 1ª a 4ª séries do Ensino Fundamental e de estudantes do curso de Pedagogia acerca do tema evolução com as variáveis religião e crença em Deus também são apresentadas e discutidas.

This current paper aims to assess the conceptions from groups of Brazilian teachers from São Paulo countryside about the theme evolution, in particular about their evolutionist and creationist conceptions. The data collect was done having as its base a questionnaire which follows the scope from the European project of investigation Biohead-Citizen (Biology, Health and Environmental Education for better Citizenship FP6, CIT2-CT2004-506015). It was aimed to investigate teachers´ opinions and reactions concerning the origin of life and the humanity as well. It was also aimed the likely influence of values and social practices on the answers achieved. Correlated analyses, whose themes were evolution with the variables religion and the creed on God, have been presented. Such work involved the conceptions from elementary school teachers, ranging from the first to the fourth level, and also students of Pedagogy.
